Building on Fire?

Apparently not.

That did not stop all 8 floors of our building to have to go out into the 90% humidity at about 95 degrees. About 10 seconds after I wrote the post below, our fire alarm went off. I am not sinning in my office, sweaty, itchy and generally yucky. I understand the safty issue of fire alarms and needing to evacuate buildings but since there was no actual emergency and since the air quality today is at such an unhealthy level, don't you think it would have made sense to let us stand in the freaking shade eventhough it was technically outside the 'saftey zone'?

That reminds me of the time we were having winter rush week and the sorority dorms had a fire drill that required everyone go outside... in the negative degree weather. Fun fun.

Sounds to me as if it's Monday... all day long. Imagine being a fireman in all those clothes in the heat. Yikes!

35ÂșC is actually quite hot … when I worked in London in a tower block with a faulty fire alarm, that would turf us out every week or so, we could go to the pub - to rehydrate, naturally - and stroll back after people floated back.

Now please stop posting, I'm trying to watch my motherland (Holland) defeat Italy in the European Cup. I don't normally care about football (aka soccer for you), but once every four years I can be nearly bothered.

I'm with Bobo, any excuse to go to the pub or generally scive!

This sounds crazy, but I'm so tired of the cool weather and would love to be really, really hot. Wanna trade??

Wow - that is absolutely something, that they did not postpone the fire drill for a sub 100-degree day!

They shut down our schools for tomorrow! We lost power today and no air conditioning-SIZZLING!

It has been way hot and humid here too. A bit too early in the season since the girls still have 2 weeks of school left. They are going to the beach with me instead of school today.
Yesterday, the 5th grade huddled in the shade of one tree on the playground. Yes, I am sure that was cooler?
I think you should only leave your office for firedrills if they are providing whoopie pies outside!

The secret is to elect yourself as fire officer, then you can stand in the shade with a clip board, a stunning fireman and a tall cocktail.

Bobo keeps mentioning football as if I should get enthusiastic too. What?
