My Kitchen - It Needs a Grown Up.

First let me say, my kitchen is usually the cleanest and most clutter free place in the house. Right now I shudder when I walk in so don't judge me on it.

Everything that is light blue would be navy blue. The crossword tile would stay. So tell me what you think about my painting plans. Goodnight.

Wow, I've seen some messy kitchens in my time (no really, Hullaballoo sets a new Olympic gold medal standard for making mess seem messier. But you're kitchen ...

Of course, I can scoff from the purity of my kitchen which has nothing in it, unless you count dust sheets and newspapers on the floor, and the chemical whiff of new paint drying.

Enjoy your DIY adventures (DIY = Do It Yourself = Home Improvement ... no, I don't know why it's called DIY in Britain, unless we were meant to have our servants "Do It")

Clutter happens in small'ish places. I have a hard time keeping mine uncluttered and there's only one person. When I have a gathering I go almost insane.

Yours really not that bad!

Your kitchen is fine, mine is a disaster compared to yours

I think it looks good:)

I think it looks good too. Mine is scary and not a place to enter into when the lights are out. :)

What are the colors in the tile? Is there blue in the tile? I think you can carry off the navy because your cabinets are white and if there's navy in the tile then it'll pop those little tiles nicely.

I agree with Heather - if the tiles can coordinate with the navy blue, I think it will make the fridge/cabinetry pop.

I like the navy blue idea. I'm not sure how I feel about the tile...you sort of have to be in the space to know if it really works. I heart the stainless fridge...good idea! I'm sure you'll make an awesome, grown-up decision. =)

I agree with Heather as well. As long as the navy blue doesn't cover too much of the area. I think it will really stand out and actually make the space feel & look larger.

I know tile is a much bigger & more expensive project. I still have the original tile from the 1940's in 3 out of 4 bathrooms and I hate it. However, I'm married to a man who doesn't believe in ever updating anything unless it's done by me, on my dime, lol.

My kitchen is also the original kitchen. Don't even get me started. I'd venture to say that your kitchen looks splendid compared to mine.
