Friday Crackberry Pic

I took this during our torrential rain this week from the front seat of my car. This is the Spring Mill Cafe. It's a French restaurant with influences from the places the owner has visited. It is also a BYOB, which is nice. P and I go to this place every year for Valentine's Day and at other times too. They recently painted the rooster on the side of the building in celebration of their anniversary. It looks really good. There are also beautiful perennial gardens in the front. This is also a place that I pass by on my way to work.
There is a story connection too. P was very good friends with the owner's son when they were in grade school. Sometimes P would go to the restaurant with his friend after school and they would steal all the sugar cubes out of the sugar bowls and eat them. This guy now manages the place as his Mom is getting older and is doing more traveling. They once offered to take P to Morocco, a place they visited almost yearly but P's parents wouldn't let him go. :(
Anyway, I liked how this turned out, looking all watercolory because of the rain. It looks really cool when you click on it to make it bigger.

I was going to say the exact same thing, Mama Dawg, but you beat me to it! That is are really cool picture. I wonder if it could be blown up and framed? I don't know how great the Crackberry's resolution is.

What a cool photo! This cafe reminds me of one in Gresham, a suburb to the east of Portland, called The Truffle Hunter. I love places like tha with 'atmosphere'. We've had one of the wettest, dreariest Springs this year in our area. A day of sunshine is worth a happy dance!

I love the byob places, and clicking it is pretty cool, I would frame that one

Wow, a lesser person would have deleted it and called it too blurry. That is awesome. I tried to make it big enough to crawl into but I was unable to do so. Any suggestions?

Why am I stuck in strip mall hell! Okay, we do have a road of nothing but amazing vineyards and wineries less than a mile from my house.. but everything else has a bit neon sign out front.. Yuck.

Great picture and a sweet story too!

Hey Scargosun - here's the coffee solution....look in the bottom left corner and slowly count across about five whole beans towards the right...and see what you see. You won't believe you didn't see it before :)

Oh, it's AWESOME!! It's so pretty, you should frame it and give it to the owners to hang up in the restaurant.

My Grandparents lived on Scargo Hill Road in Dennis on Cape Cod. Every time we went to their house we'd take a walk up the road to Scargo Hill Tower... I think I've climbed that tower a hundred times... I haven't thought about that place in a while...

That is a very cool photo... kinda creepy but way cool...

Wow! That is a great picture. Have you shown it to the owners?

That is fantastic! A 'Watercolor' in the most vivid sense! What town is this restaurant located? I think I might like to try it sometime.

I love your picture.
Fall and Winter are my favorite seasons (I know, I'm a weird one).
Seeing this photos makes me want to snuggle up with a good book. Or hop on over to that restaurant and have a bite to eat (if I was anywhere close).
I did enlarge the photo...it looks so neat with the rain drops and the dark strip across the top (from your car) adds to it too!

How wonderful to have a "favorite" little spot to go...My husband and I are always looking for a little place like that...

I MADE IT!!! Sorry for the delay, but as you know, I've been out of pocket for the last 24 hours with some big things going on over here in Mississippi.

Anyway, this picture is AWESOME. I cannot believe that you got something so cool out of a picture taken from behind a windshield. That's rare.

Jenni said...

I love it. You should send it to updone and have a print made. It looks like it's been adobed but better because its real.
