I have often wondered what constitutes a grudge as opposed to an unpleasant memory of a person. Grudge is a very negative word and I would hate to be harboring unneeded negativity. I mean that movie was pretty scary (I'm told, you know I don't watch that) and there were like icky demon-like things associated with it. Are these what grudges look like on our soul? If so I am in trouble. Maybe if I classify my grudges I can reduce the amount of soot on my soul.
Scargosun's Grudge Classification System
Large Scale Grudge(LSG):
You cannot help but think of revenge when you think of this person. You look for the karma bus to hit them repeatedly about the head and upper torso. They don't go away and they don't get downgraded.
Scargosun LSG Count: 2 maybe 3
Medium Scale Grudge (MSG):
You rarely think about these people. They come up in conversation or in a memory of something related. You don't wish harm upon them every time you think of them but you don't wish them well either. If you see them in public, brief bursts of LSG feelings might surface but will abate. These grudges can be downgraded over time.
Scargosun MSG Count: 1
*note - ironically enough I actually hold MSG - the additive as an MSG after I feel the effects. I know it's not a person but I thought of it in this way as soon as I started the discription.
Small Scale Grudge (SSG):
These are grudges that can almost be classified as just bad memories. You are able to look at them in perspective and learn from the events that caused the grudge. What makes them different from a bad memory is that you hold onto it in a negative way still rather than just moving on. SSG's are bad because if you are not careful, they can upgrade rather than downgrade depending on the state of your mind and the number of Prozac left in the bottle.
Scargosun SSG Count: @10
Temporary Grudge (TG):
These are temporary and most of the time go away on their own. In rare cases if provoked enough (constant contact with person who caused it, repeated reminders of person by others, etc) it can be upgraded to any of the grudges on the scale. Temporary grudges are the worst because they can just happen for small reasons that can be blown out of proportion (a perceived slight by friends or co-workers, an email tone interpreted in the wrong way, a reminder of another grudge or bad memory, etc). Most of the time, these grudges pass by the wayside and become bad memories. However, if you let them fester under the guise of not wanting to deal with it or giving it time, they can get worse quickly hurting people and friendships.
Scargosun TG Count: @ 5
I wrote this out of both amusing and sad things that were brought to my attention this week. One involved Facebook and my inability to friend someone because that person dumped me the day after I bought a prom dress to go to their prom in high school (SSG).
The other is the sad one and as Forrest Gump says, "That's all I have to say about that."

Karma Butt Kicking - The Extended Version
So those lovely crab fries from Thursday helped karma out by giving me a merciless headache/migraine ALL F-ING WEEKEND. I know better than to eat that stuff (some preservatives, like the kind in Old Bay type seasonings can trigger migraines for me) in excessive amounts. I also was very aware that I was getting dizzy spells a precursor to allergies that kick into migraines later. So much for living in the moment. Sheesh!
I am much better after drinking tons of water and eating much better stuff all weekend but I didn't get too much done. My plan had been to cook all weekend stuff I could freeze for a taste of summer in winter. We have the most awesome corn around here this year (you can eat it raw it's so juicy and sweet) and the tomatoes are to die for and the peaches are incredible too. I've never done the freezing in excess thing and I am hoping that I have enough freezer room to actually do it. Do you cooks have any good tried and true freeze now and enjoy later recipes you can share with me?

A Few Notes to Catch Up
This weekend I neglected to post. So many things to do, so little time. So I am going to throw a few tidbits together, gathered from my scattered brain...
Saturday: Growers Market, once again blown away. Bought sheep's milk French Feta and yogurt. Have not tried either yet. Can't wait. Also bought TONS of granola. I know it sounds unexciting but this morning I am having a delicious breakfast of yogurt, peaches, granola and honey and on Saturday for lunch I had a small leftover steak sandwich, sweet orange cherry tomatoes with a little salt and marinated mozzarella. Que angels singing. We also went out to dinner for our anniversary. It was a gorgeous evening and we were able to sit outside at one of our favorite spots, The Spring Mill Cafe.
Sunday: Had to work at Lottery Yarn...booo! I was able to get up early enough to enjoy the AM with P and breakfast outside before the crazy storms rolled through. We lost power for about 30 seconds at the Lottery Yarn while I was there because of the storms. First time that has happened in my 2 years there. I ran to the front to prevent people making off with stuff. Sunday evening we relaxed, nibbled a little here and there and watched the Olympics. I am not that into it but I was VERY happy to see the US claim victory over the French in the 100m freestyle relay after the trash talk from the French.
That is about it. Kinda boring but also relaxing in a very nice way. Hope your weekend was good too!

Crackberry Will Be Delayed
I am going to attempt to take a pic from the road and post it. We'll see how that goes.
I am tying up loose ends here in the office and will be out of here ASAP. I need to hit Lottery Yarn for my oh so grand paycheck then home to pack the car.
I plan on blogging while I am on vaca and the posts may be dreamy or a little off depending on the state of mind I am in or the state of inoxication. :) I'll be trying to Twitter too.

No I am Not...
Pregnant!!!!!
Darn you Carrie!
Will post anew asap. My work computer is updating and the estimated time is flippin 8 hours.
BTW, my twitter explains the vast amounts of wine consumed this weekend. If I was preggers, I would not be doing this.

Really Boring Post. Hopefully Won't Happen Again
I am inhaling my lunch as I write this b/c I took my real lunch time to go to the doctors. They don't seem to know what's wrong with me either but sent me on my way with a perscription for prednisone. Hopefully it will work and that will be the end of it. If it's not, I will be back there again next week.
Most of my weekend consited of hiding from the heatwave that has hit us. I literally looked outside with fear on my face. G-dog got 2 walks in the earliest part of the day possible and she was content to lay around the house the rest of the time. The only time I was out for a significant amount of time was when we met friends out for dinner and we got ice cream afterwards (the poor girl we were with is 6 days overdue with her first child). Other than that we did nothing at all. I read a good deal and Mom called from Bobo-BS5-Suburbia country to let me know she was having a fabulous time with L and they took a nice river cruise up the Thames. Oh, supposedly it has been quite warm there too, 75 or 80. So I was able to explain to the doc the green color of my skin today but not the itchys.

It is Not Time for this Heat!
Very quick post before I die of heatstroke. It has been EXTREMELY hot here and way too humid. As our computer is on the second floor, I have chosen to live rather than spend time up there. Hope your weekend was good. I will post on Monday about my fabulously boring weekend in the heat. ;)

Is it May or October and Working Tonight UGH!
So rainy and chilly, seeing my breath when I walk the dog. This all reminds me of October, which I like very much but seeing as it is MAY the 40-something degree weather last night and the 50-something today don't really fit.
Anyway, today I have that dreaded chore of the 2nd job after my day job. Do I really need this job to live, no. So why do I subject myself to the $8.30/hr wages? One word, discount. I got this job thinking that we'd be able to furnish the bedroom and some other things but here it is almost 2 years later and no funiture. Don't get me wrong, I have taken as much advantage as possible. Christmas gifts are good there, so are house warming etc. I just don't feel like I can quit without making a big purchase. I know, I am crazy. Somehow the with the seasonal changes and new stuff just sucks me in and I think I can stick it out a little longer. There are things that I like about working there besides the discount. Some of the people are really nice and sometimes the customers can be very appriciative. Then there are those other times when if I have to straghten the flippin frames one more time I may shoot someone or the fact that I HAVE to ask customers for their email address (I've been given a talking to on more than one occasion about my low email captures). I think I need to make a pro and con list of the reasons I continue to be there. The problem is, the discount will always outweigh all the cons in my crazy brain. I might need professional help with this. Is there a 12 step program for retail?

JAAAAAA! Dentist!
Yes that's right, I have a dental appointment today. Like many other people I HATE going. The last time I went (ok, it was after a 7 year hiatus) I had 7, yes 7, cavities. Some quite deep. It is in about an hour and I still have to pull myself together to get to work afterwards.
Anyway, so Mom and L came other for dinner last night. L is in town this week for meetings at the last minute. This means she was able to go to a friend's open house the day she got in and then drive to NJ to see her godchild then swing around to my house for fajitas and Margaritas. I don't know how she does it. I think she must be used to the flight and jet lag by now. It was a nice evening and this morning I had the hint of a tequilla headache but it's gone now.
For those of you with Trader Joe's near by, I used their Carne Asada marinated beef for the fajitas last night. It ROCKS! You must try it. We also had shrimp and the rest of the fixin's for fajitas, mostly couresy of TJ's. Maybe I should work there. ;)
I think that's all for me. I have been told I have a couple memes waiting for me so I will try to get to those later and catch up from the weekend.

Quick Update
1. Have not yet heard from Mom. Not unusual. Sometimes it's hard to get to an area where she can email.
2. G-mom is at IL's as we speak. We will be catching up with her tonight.
I am attempting to get out of here early as it is even more beauitious than it was yesterday and I'd LOVE some time to get at the weeds outside. So I am going to attempt to get actual work done and blog later. Horrors, I know!

Sunday Quickie
Minds out of gutter now! ;)
This is a quick post b/c I tired from working my 2nd job. The baking went well. I only did the scones though, b/c I ran out of time waiting for the phyllo to deforst. I will do the Tyropitas this week. I was extremely happy with how the cheddar dill scones turned out. Hopefully they freeze as well as the original baker said they do.
I would have gotten it all done but on Saturday, I could not seem to get moving. I felt wiped out for no apparent reason. I ended up taking a 2 hour nap. Sometimes, I think my body just puts on the breaks after I haven't allowed myself any relaxation. Later that night we went out to dinner with P's parents for my MIL's b-day. It was WONDERFUL! I may post more on it tomorrow if I have time.
P's Grandmother is in the hospital at the moment. They are not exactly sure what is wrong but it is something in the range of either, mini-stroke, big cell ocuvitis (sp), or migraines. She is 82 and a spitfire. She still works as a waitress once a week for fun. So we're a little on edge. Right now my shoulders are up around my ears and I keep having to remind myself to relax them.
I am going to bed now. Ugh! I just remembered, sheets are in the dryer, I still have to make the bed.

This is a Little Addicting
So I have hit upon a number of blogs today by clicking the links of other blogs and BOOM! I think my Blog list is at like 30 now. Any other rookie bloggers experience this?
Deadliest Book Signing
Yes, I am a geek. No, I am not a redneck. I like Deadliest Catch. It just so happens that Sig, Andy and Jonathan were at a local bookstore for a book signing last night. I went with my Mom, had dinner and then stood at the back of a crowd during a Q&A with the guys. It was fun watching some people become offended at the occasional swearing and off color sexual reference. I just wanted to shake those people and say, "Do you watch the show? These guys do this all the time. They are fishermen. Did you expect them to censor themselves for your bratty kid who is crying because they are hungry?" That last hungry kid pissed me off so I had to mention it. That kid also told his mother to f*ck off so I don't know why she was so worried that these guys were cursing now and again. Anyway, I got my books signed and a pic with the guys. I would have tried something like conversation but there was a bookstore (nazi) employee that was getting all pissy for people taking too long in the signing line. I offered her a Xanax but she just looked at me with contempt. I did better with the other bookstore employee when I got the Flyers score off my crackberry for him and he let me get a better picture.
There were some real winners at this booksigning. I would probably do my karma serious harm if I actually posted the catty comments running through my head last night. Things like:
"Go home and brush your tooth."
"Sweetie, it's 2007 not 1987. Maybe those bangs need to come down and the acid wash needs to just go"
"Should you BE in the women's bathroom?"
"If your kid hits my purse one more time, I am showing him the sexuality section and giving him a picture book called "The Kama Sutra."
There were more but my allergy medicine is making me forget most of them. I'll post the pic of me and the guys when I get a chance to download it off my camera.
