I have never been so proud to be an American as I am today. This truly is a turn in the right (correct) direction. I am excited for our country to get working on fixing the ills of the past 8 years. We will be able to fix the broken systems that support America and we'll be able to mend our foreign policy. America will again be the true leader in the free world once again. Other countries will look upon us with respect for our democracy, rather than disgust for our arrogance.
It is going to take a lot of work. More work than can be accomplished in just four years since over the past 8 years a heck of a lot of damage was done. It can be done, though. I have hope and joy for the future.

I KNEW I'd "see" a smile on your face this morning!
YES! YES! YES!!!!!
I can FEEL a difference already... Europe is a buzz... glad that we made the "right" decision...
PROUD to BE AN AMERICAN:... I am going to go tie my American flag to the top of my car & go drive around town... so they can all say... "there goes that crazy American Chic.."
Hugs from Norway
I think we all new it was coming. Let's just hope we are able to achieve change with all of the damage that has already been done. Nothing worse than making promises you can't keep.
Go Obama!
Great result, and this UK blogger looks forward to an America more at ease with itself in the perceptions of other Countries and faiths; as American in Norway says, there's a feeling of difference already (except for the bloody Russians)!
What an exciting 24 hours.
Right On!
YAY!
Amen, S, amen!
I am so with you on this one. Yeah!!!!
I'm right there with ya lady...I am so hopeful. There really aren't words...

How funny...my word verification is "castro"...a sign, maybe??!?
Hallelujah---and I am even more grateful that it was not close
A lot of people in other countries believe Americans made the best pick. Yea for us!
Amen!! Yes, we can.
Amen!
Ditto to what Jennifer P. said...every word of it, including the "I love ya!" part. 'Cause I do.
Amen! This is the change we've been waiting for!
Woohoo! Excellent news.
I am with Jennifer P, Sydney and Lula!
It is very exciting! Well done!
I have never before seen, or heard of, Americans across the country spontaniously dancing for joy in the streets after an election.
more than just the president changed. it's a brand new day with a brand new attitude.
What a wonderful day!
The party here in Detroit was OFF THE CHAIN as you can probably imagine.
I feel so proud to call myself patiotic today.
I'm thinking it's going to take decades to recover from our losses thanks to the puppet masters of the last 8 years.
I still have chills!!!
Yes, it is most certainly time for all of us, as Americans, to pull together and be united. Obama gave a tremendous acceptance speech and even though he wasn't my candidate, I am behind him all the way now. Why? Because I love my country and I want to see many things improve for everyone, even though there will be no easy solution to ANY of our problems.
Thank you so much for voicing your opinion on my blog. It's your right as well as it is mine and I don't begrudge YOU that. I believe opposing opinions are what makes our world here in America go around, so I'm not angry in the least. I hope that you can get past your anger as well.
I'm with you 100%. I wrote yesterday that we have to be united in this--regardless of how you voted.
I am thrilled that he won! : )
