36 + 1 day = Wonderful Monday!

Except for a certain doggie being a bit of a pain in the rear this AM.... ahem

Yea! My b-day was so nice! I woke up, had coffee and blogged while listening to jazz (yes, jazz, I like it on Sunday mornings and when I cook). Then I headed out to get a mani/pedi (pedi looks great, mani, not the best I ever had so you only get this pic
will avoid that nail tech in the future) and to Barnes and Noble as I received a gift card from my aunt.

Here is what I got:

Dinner was WONDERFUL! We had a nice time and the food was great. For apps we had gnocchi (to die for) and calamari. I had seared tuna with wasabi mashed potatoes and snap peas. I normally would not go for fish on a Sunday but they didn't have info on where the steak came from exactly so I went for the fish and was not disappointed. For dessert, I split a Bananas Foster with my Mom. I also FINALLY had a pom martini.
We went back to my Mom's and I opened their gifts. Mom got me a fall decoration that I saw when we were at the Cape this year and a replacement of a seagull ceramic object that P broke at some point during one of our moves. I'll take a pic of the decoration b/c my fellow nesters will LOVE it! T got me a book about cheese (YUM), asiago crackers and cocktail napkins. My sister remembered that I complained about taking G-dog out when the grass was wet out back so she sent me these:

I have wanted them for some time.

All in all, a wonderful birthday thanks to my wonderful family.

Also a BIG GIANT THANK YOU to all who wished me a happy day. I could feel the well wishes across the blogosphere. :)

Wow, it sounds like you had a phantabulous birthday!

Here's hoping that the work week will go equally well (but I really don't mind if you need to vent because you found a floating turd in the bathroom or an co-worker stole something from the fridge because those are always good posts)!

Hello happy 36 plus 1 day! Hunter wellies eh? You might have been a little sporting and shown us a little more of your summer sun tan?

:)

Hunter was started in 1856 in Edinburgh by one of your countrymen! His firm really went well when the British War Office asked them to make Wellies for WW1.

Hunter wellies?! They are the height of fashion in the countryside here with the welthy and horesy types! Very up market :)

Next summer when you visit, I will get you the pink wellies that are the trademark of our group, Women Of Fishing Families. Nothing says cool chick like pink rubber boots!
Glad that you had such a great day yesterday. I hope it continues thru the week because what is a birthday if you can't stretch it out for a week?
And is that black nail polish?

I'm so glad you had a wonderful birthday. Is there any food porn to post? Sorry about the demographic advancement however I have to point out that the 30's are a fabulous decade... I hope you continue to enjoy them!

I think you can also use these boots to go fishing, right? Shame that the Eagles couldn't get you a win on your birthday ... sigh.

Happy (belated) birthday!

And your pedi looks like mine that I got on Friday! I loved the color so much I bought a bottle :)

OPI Siberian Nights... looks like black (but it's really a dark dark dark purple).

I cut all my nails short and put it on my fingers too... and I *never* wear color on my nails.

Happy Birthday my dear!

Your pedi looks magnifique! How are you liking the book Barefoot? I am having a little trouble getting into it.

Love the wellies! And I want some for the exact same reason!

Sounds like you had the perfect birthday. Pedicures are so wonderful when someone else does it, lol.

And I want a pair of those boots for working in the garden. I used to have a similar pair but they finally wore out after 25 years of use, lol.

Happy Belated Bday. I love the boots. I got a pair of black and white houndstooth boots last year and live in them. I don't call them boots though, they are my wellies. My mom was Scottish and that's what they were called in my house and it just sounds cooler then boots.
