My New Job...Nursemaid

We'll see how long lit lasts. P had surgery today for his broken nose. We needed to be at the hospital by 6:30am so we had to leave the house by 5:45am. I got up at 5am to walk G-dog, expecting to be home early afternoon. Yeah, not so much.

While in the waiting area I got a call on their little phone that it was going to take 3-4 hours JUST for the surgery! What, they had grow him a new nose on the back of a mouse? Anyway, I called my Mom to ask if she could let G-dog out since I was not sure when we would be home. Luckily, it only took 2&1/2 hours and then 2 hours in recovery and then about an hour in the room before we could go. This was not before P got to crack some (what he thought were excellent) jokes and puns to the hospital staff (Example: Gets on the elevator after and asks for the Penthouse and surf and turf for lunch). Oh what pain meds will do. I don't want to know what I didn't get to hear.

He is now in bed, watching TV, bleeding into his gauze (ick) but...

he is home and all went well. :) I am happy and thankful for that.

Posting may still be a bit off as I will have to pick up a couple extra duties while he is recovering.

Oh, bummer...that doesn't sound like fun! Glad he's doing well, though.

Isn't it funny how funny they think they are - pain meds or not?

I am glad all when well. You just gotta love pain med induced funny. They never get old, never!

Sooooo... In a round about way he got a nose job? How does he feel about hockey now that the meds have worn off? Or have they? Does/will he still have that sense of humor? Hehehe... I'll check back on the boy.

I used to play broomball with the boys when I still lived in Aspen & someone was always getting hurt. Except for me. I could dodge faster than anyone. Still, I knew when it was time to leave it to the younger crowd.

He's a lucky man there, Florence Nightingale!

It makes me laugh when you use the word ick!

Ohhhhh who are you kidding! You love it really. To guest star in your own TV Medical Daytime Soap. The blushing, lip biting Nurse Scargo and the brisk Doctor Sun, bossing about/looking after that poor man!

Caretaking someone after surgery is always entertaining! I've been through a number of them with my husband and middle daughter!

I hope he feels better soon! The Brute Squad sends their best to G-dog!

That is a long day at the hospital.

Good luck with your new duties and I hope your hubby heals soon.

And P can take you out for a romantic dinner when his hooter had healed. You poor things, it's no fun hanging around a hospital then playing nursie at home. Hugs to you both.

And after he recovers, you will need some recovery time of your own. Since you're being a good nurse to him now and all.

Lucky P, a nose job and a cute nurse to take care of him. Just remind him that pay back is a bitch!
