Crackberry Friday Late: Bad Ceiling Fan

I really hope you can truly feel the tackiness of this ceiling fan. The reason you cannot really see the fan blade is because they are clear. You know it makes them invisible. The gold leaves truly give it that "granny who covers her sofas in plastic" feel.
This fan was at a shore house that P and I were guests at this weekend. We had a wonderful time drinking too much and eating too much (why is it that you become ravenous after drinking and dancing at a bar?) playing volleyball too much (P) and sitting on the beach too much (Me). Saturday was absolutely beautiful and I didn't want to leave the beach but we were scheduled to take P's grandmother, who lives close to where we were, out to dinner. All in all a lovely weekend.
PS. I should be back to regular blogging as our home interent is hopefully getting fixed today. Yea!

Crackberry a Day Late: A Window into My Stress

So my lovely bloggy friend Carrie mentioned in my comments that she'd been looking for my Crackberry Friday pic yesterday. I did not post one and believe me, I was not feeling good about it either even before she mentioned it. So I will post a few pics to illustrate what I still have to do for this event on Sunday which is why I have been more lurker than commenter.

The first one is a pic of the liquor and beer we bought for the event. No, I have not dipped into it yet. Also are the bags for the take away and other items for decorations.

The second one is the reason I was driving most of the day yesterday. I had to drive to Reading, PA to get my herbs for the take away bags, there are 60 assorted potted herbs. BTW, if you are ever in the Reading area or are traveling on the PA turnpike, visit Kathy at Deer Creek Farm. She is a lifesaver and an absolutely lovely person.

The third is a tiny portion of the flowers I need to cut on Sunday morning for my centerpieces. They are zinnias.

They will be put in Mason jars then wrapped with brown craft paper (so they won't look like mason jars, and tied with raffia. I need to cut 130 at least of them at Maple Acres Farm in Plymouth Meeting, PA. They sell them 10 for $1 if you cut them yourself. :)

So, although this might not seem like a lot, this was all Friday. Today, I will work on the jars for the centerpieces but can't put flowers in them until tomorrow. Also I can's put the bags together until tomorrow b/c I will probably need to water the herbs one more time. I might rethink that one. Oh, also, my yoga teacher is having an event to inaugurate her new studio. I can't not go. I am already skipping the Vegan potluck (which I really actually wanted to go to).

I will take pics tomorrow evening of the event and hopefully, I will still be standing when it is all over. :)

PS - Today's contest clue. "You slip on them."

Crackberry Pic: Not So Fun...

**NOTE**
Today is Thursday and while my Crackberry pictures are usually on Fridays, I could not let this one wait till then.

We are all trying to cut back to be able to fill our gas tanks and buy those groceries, increasing in cost by the millisecond. We time our errands efficiently, we buy local, we brown bag it, we push the envelope on the sell by dates of dairy (ok, eww); anything that might help. When we look for a small indulgence to remind us that someday we will be able go back to our normal, therapeutic levels of retail therapy sometimes we get b-slapped.

Today the full scale of the economic crisis hit me.

M&M's downsized their fun.

This 'fun size' pack of M&M's had only 5 M&M's (and 1 crushed to smithereens but that doesn't count). I thought maybe that this was a rouge bag and someone on the assembly line decided to pull a Lucy and Ethel, making this particular bag light on the goodies. BUT NO! I checked a couple other bags (I did not open them, I felt them up) then more. Some of them had 4! Is this fun to you? It's not fun to me. It should be called "almost fun but enough to make you upset you don't have more size" or "cheap grandma size" or "bad box lunch on field trip size."

There is nothing fun about 5 M&M's when you have your period, period.

If any kids whose parents work for TM & Mars come to my house for Halloween, they are getting toothpaste.
