My New Job...Nursemaid
While in the waiting area I got a call on their little phone that it was going to take 3-4 hours JUST for the surgery! What, they had grow him a new nose on the back of a mouse? Anyway, I called my Mom to ask if she could let G-dog out since I was not sure when we would be home. Luckily, it only took 2&1/2 hours and then 2 hours in recovery and then about an hour in the room before we could go. This was not before P got to crack some (what he thought were excellent) jokes and puns to the hospital staff (Example: Gets on the elevator after and asks for the Penthouse and surf and turf for lunch). Oh what pain meds will do. I don't want to know what I didn't get to hear.
He is now in bed, watching TV, bleeding into his gauze (ick) but...
he is home and all went well. :) I am happy and thankful for that.
Posting may still be a bit off as I will have to pick up a couple extra duties while he is recovering.

Bad Wife
You see, there are a few things that I asked him to do BEFORE the painting began. The walls in the kitchen are not in great shape. Sections needed to be slightly repaired before more paint went on the walls. We spoke about it extensively many times before painting began. What did he do? Paint over the sections that needed to be repaired instead of fixing them. Does it look good? No. Did we get into a blow out over it? Yes. I can't even get into the nuances of the fight here because they were so moronic (on his side) I almost collapsed on the floor in a 3 year old fit. Actually, I might have, the rage was quite blinding. Bottom line, he didn't feel like doing it so it didn't get done. I am still not over it.
My problem is, from outside the kitchen, the paint and the flooring that is being worked on now, looks really good. Let me repeat, from outside the kitchen. Who spends lots of time in the kitchen? Me. It's my place. P has the family room with his huge tv, extensive stereo gear and XBox. I have the kitchen with it's warmth, good scents and cookbooks. So now, I am torn daily between rage that he didn't care enough about my area (BTW, I also cook for him on an almost daily basis, where?) and guilt that I don't appreciate the fact he is doing this.
I feel like crawling UNDER the bed.

Crackberry Friday: Peter is 35!
Peter has this thing about his age. He had a difficult time with 30. So much so that we actually had his surprise party AFTER he turned 30 because otherwise he would have been saying "I'm not 30 yet, blah, blah, blah" all night. Seriously, that is what he did for 6 months leading up to it. Now he is 35 and he seems ok with it. I am not sure if it's because he has come to terms with it or if it's because he knows he can still act like a 12 year old. Anyway, we are off to a lovely dinner tonight with his parents. I got him a cute card, chocolate covered pretzels and
Warhammer: Battleground for XBox 360.
Yeah, I am a glutton for punishment. The geeks guys at the game store were pretty impressed that I bought it for him. For about 5 minutes I was a cool wife.

In the ER
Update: P is fine. Swollen but fine. He has a skin split that didn't need stiches and he broke his nose. We'll see how bad it is when the swelling does down...He would not let me post a pic of him for Crackberry Friday and...for now...I will respect his wishes.

Codes
P: Let me check (looks in crackberry).
Me: I am really glad to see you are keeping all your stuff in there now. Now if I ask you about what your schedule is you will actually know.
P: I know. It's a big help. The only problem is when I want to put something in there that I don't want people at work to see. I have to come up with codes.
Me: Codes?
P: Yeah. Like if we have a night planned to play Halo, I have to put in a code word that I understand but work wouldn't so they won't think it's weird.
Me: Uh-huh. (looking at P like he's weird)
P: My Halo code is 117.
Me: Dare I ask why? (
P: Well Master Chief was part of a group of Spartan supersoldiers that all died and he was the only one left. His number was 117.
Me: Uh-huh....so if they know you play hockey and soccer that's ok?
P: Yeah, that's normal to most people.
Me: Do you understand what you just admitted to?
P: (looks at me and blinks)
Me: So anyway, do you have hockey this week?

And the Winner Is...
Why you might ask?
Because P was being a PITA and I needed a glass to calm down after he tried his very best to make me say I was wrong when I knew I was right.
BTW...I have those BIG wine glasses that look like fishbowls on a stem.

Tax Rebate Super Specials - Gee Thanks
This ad is tearing my heart out. Take a look at the Sunfire package. Dream equipment. Dream price. Nightmare because we can't afford it. It is actually painful to think about. This is equipment I wouldn't think of getting because it normally costs too much and now I know that at some point down the road I am going to pay more than this discounted price for an amp and processor (albeit seperate purchases most likely) and get less. I had to vent. Its just too painful. I hope you're having a nice day.
I love you.

My response:
Dear P
I am sorry your heart is being ripped out by stereo equipment. Here is a list of things that are ripping my heart and other internal organs out:
-fence
-refrigerator
-HVAC
-drapes
-clothing
Love you. Hope you are having a nice day.

Evile Ex Brother In Law
UPDATE: Ha ha! I found it! P is on the left EEBIL on right. I picked this one b/c EEBIL looks really bad and I think P looks pretty darn good. :)
I am suprised that many people were more interested in the scorpion than the EEBIL (Evile Ex Brother In Law). Since I won't post about Mom till at least Sunday, I'll tell you about EEBIL.
I spell 'Evile' with an 'e' because it can still sound like evil but you can also say it like e-vile as in an extra vile creature. I also like italics.
Let it be noted that I never liked EEBIL. On our first meeting we (me, L, my bf at the time (BFATT) and EEBIL) went mountain biking on the trails along the river. My sister was very, very new to the activity. She didn't know how to easily switch through the multitude of gears for different types of environments. Did EEBIL try to help her? No, he zoomed on ahead and I stayed with her, giving her tips on how to handle the mud, slate, stones etc. Oh, it started to rain too. I didn't get a good vibe from him and at that point in my life I was pretty damn intuitive, bordering on psychic. I told BFATT that I though EEBIL was the kind of guy to marry a girl, murder her and try to cover it up for the insurance money. They were married for 6 years and got a divorce about a year and a half ago after two seperations.
EEBIL and I were civil to each other through those years but it was pretty obvious that we disliked each other. He had no reason to dislike me, seriously. I tried to be the nice SIL and I'm a pretty good person. I have witnesses. I detested the way he treated my sister. I always knew why she delt with it and still do but we could never have that conversation. It would be way too hurtful.
Before they were seperated, EEBIL started a new business and really wanted P to work for him. P had been very successful at his current job but really wanted out as he hated the company. During this time it seemed things wer ok between L and EEBIL. So, against my better judgement P went to work with EEBIL. Not long after the offer was extended, L left EEBIL for the last time. There was lots of drama from EEBIL, my sister remained calm and stuck to her guns. P felt like he was helping EEBIL because that is the guy P is...to a fault. L was fine with P working with EEBIL, she still thought EEBIL was a good business person and that it was a good opportunity for P.
Cut to a year later, the business, not doing well, we have used a good deal of savings (ok almost all) to help suplement our income since P works on commission. Time to find another job. P does and EEBIL makes it seem like bygones are bygones. Cut to May 8, 2008. We still have yet to receive P's W2 because EEBIL decided not to pay the employment taxes for the 4th quarter. What does this mean, it means that if he gave P a W2 and the gov't looked into where the taxes actually were, EEBIL would be in a HUGE pile of trouble. So, now we have no regular tax refund, no stimulus check and still no W2. We did file an extension but I want my flippin' money!
EEBIL is a jerk and although I can count how many people I truly hate on one hand, he is in danger of becoming added to that list. Just wanted to close that little circle. I also liked using the EEBIL acronym. I have a really bad pic of him at home that I might just post when I get there. He he he he.
On a positive note...I am making the tyropitas tonight and I'll let you know how they turn out. :) Had to be positive at some point b/c BS5 makes me do it with his cheery outlook.

Mission (Half) Accomplished!
The back garden is a mess. I really don't think there is much I can do with it anymore but start over. It is really overgrown and there is a creeping weed that literally grows like a foot a night. Maybe Suburbia can come over and lend me her gardening skills.
We went to dinner at P's parents' tonight and his Grandmom is there. She is doing ok but they still have not competely nailed down what the problem is. She is getting better on steroids so we'll keep our fingers crossed that what they assumed was wrong is being taken care of.
I got P in a little trouble tonight but at the same time it was a good thing. We have a little issue with our taxes b/c P's former employer also evil ex-brother in law (was married to my sister, L) has not given P his W-2 causing us to have to file for an extention which means...no stimulus check yet. P has been being non-confontational about it and puts me off when I question him about it. I needed some help to convince P of the seriousness of the situation. So we had a long discussion with his family about it and although I felt a little bad about the 'ganging up' like nature, they gave us some good advice and I think P is finally getting through his head that this business (crap) has gone too far.
I heard from my brother T, finally. He let me know Mom is alive and well in Honduras (forgot to call and tell me) and she had some sort of confrontation with a large scorpion (also forgot to tell me). He forgets also when he is supposed to pick her up at the airport. I know she is coming back on Friday, I am just not sure of the time. I also know that even though she has not bothered to email me, she is coming to her Mothers Day brunch if I have to drag her. :)

Friday Crackberry Pic
This is a pic of P when we were in Paris. Taken from a very tall metal structure...in Paris...famous structure. My friend L (not to be confused with sister L) lives there currently but is moving to the country in the next couple months. Her blog is the fist one on my links list but she has not updated in a while (hint, hint). This was my second trip to France and P's first. Next time we go it will be to the countryside to visit L and T probably bypassing gay Pariee altogether. Why? We are ugly Americans who don't speak French and when you don't speak French in Paris (and even when you try), sometimes (not all the time) they do mean things like send you the VERY VERY long/stupid way to Versailles, knowing there is some sort of rollerblading event on the main road that makes the bus you take after the train you take let you off about 2 or 3 miles from your destination.
BTW, totally not our fault, when we told L what happened she wanted to find the train guy that told to go this way and chew him out...in perfect French. I don't think she got the chance though.
Anyway, tonight P will be holding his Halo meeting tonight so I need to figure something out to do with myself. I may be cooking stuff for Mother's Day for next week. Hopefully the committee that is Halo players will not eat it all.

The Great Balloon Escape
I had 1 job to do for this shower I was helping to host; get balloons for the front gate of the home where the shower was taking place. I ordered them Friday for 8:45am Saturday. I needed to be at the home at noon to help set things up etc. Considering that the shower was for my boss' wife (also my friend and boss P's best friend for too long to remember) I needed to be on time. Saturday morning was beautiful and I asked P if he would mind picking the balloons up for me so I could take G-dog on a longer than usual walk. He said that he would then started mumbling about maybe going to Lowes too in order to get the rest of the things we needed to finish the closet. He said that it probably wasn't a good idea because he really needed more than one person to help load and on load. So
Me: "Then don't do it now."
P: "But I am going all the way over there. I just need paneling and 2/4's."
Me: "So? It's not like you are going to do anything with the materials this weekend. Wait until tomorrow or next week. Just get some bagels and we'll have them when you get back."
P: Ok.
This is where I should have specifically made sure that he was JUST going to get the balloons and bagels but silly me wanted to get moving. So I take G-dog for about an hour and a half, come home, feed her, start the coffee and take a shower. Now, I was surprised that it was after 10am and P was still not home. It was about a 30 minute round trip but I needed to get ready so I left it at that. Then, 11am rolls around, no P. I call and P who is extremely pissed off and tells me that he DID, in fact, go to Lowes and it was a nightmare and he "Doesn't need this from me right now." and hangs up. Now P is not a hanger-upper, that's me. I found it odd and I am getting pretty angry at this point because he knows that I needed to be at the shower at noon.
11:30, P rolls up and starts chucking stuff out of the back of the SUV, I notice there is no paneling and only 6 balloons. I ask him where the balloons are, "They are gone." He says. Then I notice that there is no paneling on the top of the car. I am too mad at the fact that he made me really late, was selfish and blah, blah, blah to get into what exactly transpired during his excursion but by the time I left....P thought I might be staying at my Mom's the rest of the weekend. It was bad.
Turns out, not only did P wait in line at Lowes for like 30 minutes he also didn't tie the paneling down correctly on top of the car. When he left, at 25mph, it flew up and split in half before he even left the shopping center. He pulls over, throws that stuff off the top of the car (yes, leaving it there) and takes off...forgetting that the sunroof is still open so he can keep an eye on the paneling that is no longer there. Balloons are the sucked out of the sunroof and he managed to save 6.
Later on, when we were at dinner with the baby showeree, she asked P, why she only had 6 balloons. She had wanted more.
He he he. She's a good egg.

Passive Aggressive Murder
Husband sits at dining table with bills and crap spread out.
Wife: Why are you doing that here? We are about to have dinner.
Husband: Ok, I'll move.
Act II (10 minutes later)
Husband at dining table still messing with papers and such, additional crap also been added.
Wife: I thought you were going to move. You have an office upstairs you know for just this purpose.
Husband: But I just wanted to be around you.
Wife: I call bullshit
Husband: Ok, ok I'll move
Act III (10 minutes even later)
Dining table still has Husband's crap on it. Husband has moved to bottom of stairs in semi-darkness still scratching stuff on paper.
Wife: WHAT ARE YOU DOING AND WHY IS THIS STUFF STILL HERE!?
Husband: I am just finishing up what was only going to take me 2 minutes.
Wife: That was 20 minutes ago!
Husband: I would have been done if you'd let me stay at the table.
Wife: So you decided to sit there to spite me?
Husband: I said 'I' would move.

Friday Morning Banter
Me: *Blink, Blink*
P: "No, like a sexy country singer."
